At Home by the Sea out next year
On Izzie’s Baxter’s fifteenth birthday, having lived with her grandparents for two years, she and her sister Linda come back to Worthing to live with their father. Izzie has always struggled to get on with the man who went to war and came back home a complete stranger to her. When he turned up all those years ago, she overheard her parents having an argument and realised they were hiding a big secret. Her mother ran away and Izzie has always blamed him for that. What was the secret that drove her mother away? Where is she now? Izzie is desperate to find her but when she does, will she open a can of worms?
They settle into an awkward relationship, made worse because Bill Baxter spoils Linda and she gets away with blue murder. Eventually, Izzie goes to work for Giacomo Semadini in his popular Italian restaurant. Slowly she falls in love with him but when there’s a robbery, he gets shot and Izzie becomes horribly aware that her sister could be involved.
