Amy’s Wartime Christmas

For those of you who find it hard to wait for a full year between books, I have written a novella called Amy’s Wartime Christmas on Amazon to pre-order to your kindle. If you have enjoyed the Amy Hobbs stories in Woman’s Weekly Fiction Feast magazine you will remember the feisty Police Woman seconded to Worthing in 1943. At that time, the Sussex town was so short of police officers that more often than not, Amy had the opportunity to attend a crime scene and help find the culprit. In the twelve stories which have gone before, Amy has found enough evidence to arrest several murderers, solve some burglaries, find a missing child and even put everyone at ease when a circus lion was supposed to have escaped in the town. Of course her immediate boss, Sergeant Goble, didn’t see it like that. As the only policewoman at the local station, Amy works with old-fashioned superiors who think a woman’s work should be making the tea, not arrests.
In Amy’s Wartime Christmas, while families save up what little they have for the festive season, Amy begins to suspect there is a secret ring of black marketeers in Worthing and is determined to uncover them, even if it means putting herself in danger.
Meanwhile, a local woman fears she is being stalked – a man is watching and waiting by her house at night. Who is he, what does he want, and can Amy Hobbs step in just in time?
It won’t be easy to pull together the Christmas everyone deserves, but Amy isn’t one to give up without a fight…
